Ben Bey Cigars

Signage

Ben Bey signage appeared on the facades of many retail establishments and other locations throughout the Midwest, particularly around Chicago.  The images below provide a glimpse of the variety of signs that were produced.  These photos originate from the 1920's through the 40's.   In an August 3, 1922 article in "Tobacco", it was reported that the Nathan Elson Company "has an artist working the city who is painting clever Ben Bey cigar ads, on the dealers windows."  Some of the images that follow are probably related to that campaign.  Click on any of the images below to enlarge them and view identifying information.  You can then easily click through the remaining images using the arrows to the right or left.
